We had no County Champions this year at the Northumberland Cross Country Championships but Tynedale won the overall team competition showing just how much strength we have in our Club and school runners. Racing took place at Temple Park, South Shields which is also the venue for the Inter Counties competition on 7th February.
In the Minor Girls Annie Anderson finished in Silver medal position, with Roisin Lally 4th, Olivia Stewart 5th and Victoria Marshall 50th in a very strong field of 75 runners.
Ellen Ricketts medalled in the Junior Girls race picking up Bronze. Keely French was 14th, Bella Chicken 19th, Freya Barr 22nd, Jasmine Couchman 26th, Sarah Jackson 28th, Mhairi Shearer 41st, Rhianna Nitch 45th and Isobel Maxwell-Gray 46th in a field of 68 finishers.
The Inter Girls was a fast and competitive race. Hannah Pinkney finished in Bronze position, Ellie Bluck 8th, Rosie Dawson 25th, Luka Von-Weiller 33rd and Katie Bowes 47th.
In the Minor Boys Elliot Lackey was 9th, Andrew Smith 15th, and Toby Moulds 28th.
We, as a club, are very strongly represented by U15 Boys and that was evident in the Junior and Inter races. In the Junior Boys Alex Wood took Silver, Dan Howells 8th, Charles Downs 15th, Ben Dykins 17th, Samborne Bush 18th, Aiden Pinkney 21st, Angus Thompson 22nd, Dan Emmerson 31st, Cameron Grey 47th and Paddy Lally 62nd in a massive field of 80 runners.
In the Inter Boys Max Pearson also took Silver, Chris Jackson 4th, Jaycee Shotton 5th, Sam Myers 27th, Ben Pickett 29th out of 50 finishers.
In the Senior Boys Sean Wylie finished 4th, Ali Maxwell 7th, Dominic Kilsby 13th and Dominic Morley 18th out of 34 finishers.
Well done to all.
