There were PB’S all-round for Tynedale at Gateshead Open
Tynedale were represented by Bryn Mordey, Darren Towart, Kate Smith, Keeley French and Louise Smith.
Bryn Mordey under 20 junior men
Ran 100m in 11.84 a very powerfull start from Bryn and kept a good pace to come 2nd in his heat. He also ran 200m with a PB of 23.26 and again was 2nd in his heat. A great start to the season.
Ran 100m with a PB of 12.51 a massive improvement of his previous time 12.91. This was a very close race but dipped through the line and won his heat. Darren also ran 200m in 25.65 a very strong race with tough opposition.
Kate Smith under 13 girls
Jumped a PB of 3.36m in the long jump also ran 100m with a PB of 15.3 a great powerful start and held the lead all the way to win her heat. She also ran 200m with a time of 33.08 this was her first attempt at this distance and she has vowed never to run it again.
Keely French under 15 girls
Keely’s first event as an under 15 ran 100m’s with a PB of 13.97 a great start and powered all the way to the finish line. She also ran 800m in a time of 2.47 a very fast start by the Gateshead girls but Keely stayed strong and kept a steady pace with a sprint finish.
Louise Smith under 15 girls
Louise has also moved into the under 15’s jumped a PB of 4.39m in the long jump and came 3rd overall receiving a bronze medal. She also ran 100m with a PB of 13.71 and 200m with a PB of 28.41
