Tynedale Harriers & Athletic Club Membership Details

You are welcome to come along to the Club and find out more about the coaching/training we offer, as well as the competition and social opportunities.

The best thing for Seniors is to come along to our main club night at Wentworth Leisure Centre on Tuesdays at 7pm and give it a go for a couple of weeks.  Track and Field groups can be found on the track, and runners meet in the foyer. If you wish to formalise your membership you can then join the club on-line.

Juniors members must be aged between 11 and 19 and must attend some training sessions and an induction by a coach before they can join. There is currently a waiting list for Juniors as coaching places are limited. Our Junior coaches are all CRB checked and UKA licensed. For information and to join the waiting list please email us via the Contact page.

We do not currently provide coaching for Under 11s, however 8 to 11 year olds can join as ‘Mini Members’. They can then compete under the Club’s name in U9/U11 competitions organised under UKA rules (for example the North East Harrier League has Under 11 races at most venues).

About Membership

The membership year goes from beginning of April to end of March the following year. All competing members are registered with England Athletics and are sent a membership card. There may be a delay of up to 2 months between joining Tynedale Harriers and getting your card as we register members in batches about every 2 months. You will be notified of your England Athletics number, however, as you may need this to enter races. Many sports shops will give you 10% discount on production of your membership card.

Yearly Fees – year runs from 1st April to 31st March

Seniors (Over 19) and Vets

£36 (includes £13 subscription payable to England Athletics)

Juniors (Between 11 and 19)

£36 (includes £13 subscription payable to England Athletics)

Second Claim Members

£25, this category is only for members that are already a member of another athletics club.

The small print…

There are no half year fees. Existing members must renew in April, or will have to pay an additional £10.  This is to encourage members to pay on time! There is a 15% discount if you are purchasing memberships for 3 or more members of your household. New members do not pay the additional £10 if they join later in the year.

This year we have a new membership system, using PaySubsOnline.  Existing members should click on the link to renew, then ‘click here to create a new password’.  You should use the email address that you used on the old Harriers Website.  If, after trying, you cannot remember this, then you should email the membership secretary (Kirstie Anderson) to find out what you used.
